Girls on the Run Fall 2012! Get Involved!

Girls on the Run of Dayton is in to their 3rd year! Up and Running is excited to be a partner of the Dayton Chapter for the 2011-2013 seasons. Girls on the Run® is a life-changing, character development program for girls in 3rd through 8th grade.  The mission is to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living.

Girls on the Run – Dayton is a council of Girls on the Run International, founded in 1996, by Molly Barker, a visionary, Ironman triathlete.   Girls on the Run® combines training for a 5k (3.1 miles) event with healthy living education. They use exercise, positive reinforcement, and encouraging role models to help girls discover the confidence they need in the critical pre-teen years and beyond.

Interested in volunteering?  You can be part of the 5K as a running buddy or a volunteer on a committee!  Contact Angela at, their are great opportunities to get involved!

The fall Girls on the Run 5K will take place on November 17th, 2012 10am at Welcome Stadium in Dayton.  The 5K is open to the general public as well!
