Biomechanics Lecture with Lisa Duncan March 17th 10:00am

Biomechanics Lecture presented by Lisa Duncan, Certified Physical Therapist & Certified Athletic Trainer.  Lisa will discuss biomechanics of runners & triathletes, injury prevention, common overuse injuries. Learn the root cause of what might be interrupting your training schedules and learn the facts and fiction of our over zealous training schedules. Lets learn to stay fit, healthy, and arrive at the start line injury free!

Lisa Duncan began running in 1981.  She ran for Mcauley High School in Cincinnati where she set the school record at 800 meters and was  part of the state record setting 4×1 mile relay.  Lisa continued running on scholarship at Miami University as a member of both the cross country and track teams.  While at Miami she met a wonderful young man and was introduced to the sport of cycling.  After graduation Lisa continued runnng competitively as well as competing in the burgeoning world of multi-sport.

Lisa’s accomplishments in the sport of triathlon include numerous age group wins, multuple national championship qualifications and USAT all American awards.  She has qualified and competed at The IronMan World Championships in Kona Hawaii and competed for Team USA at age group World Championships in Sater Sweden where she finished 4th (missing the bronze by 100th of a second).  Most recently, Lisa competed in her first mountain bike race, the Vermont 50 Miler where (after owning a mountain bike for a scant 5 weeks) she won her divisioon and placed 8th overall.

Lisa holds degrees in Health Apraisment and Enhancement from Miami of Ohio, Physical Therapy from Oklahoma University, is a certified athletic trainer, and a USAT Level 1 certified coach.

Lisa is currently the site coordinator of Atrium Medical outpatient physical therapy center at the Countryside YMCA in Lebanon, Ohio where she uses her 16 years of sports centered  therapy to get and keep people in the race.
