Beginner Triathlon Program
Our beginner triathlon program is a 10 week program meant to prepare the first time triathlete to complete a triathlon. The program will prepare you to complete the following triathlon distance: 300 yard serpentine pool swim – 10 mile bike (road) – 5k run through surrounding neighborhood.
The 2020 spring program begins March 1st and concludes May 10th at the Coffman YMCA in Springboro. THE INFO MEETING WILL BE ON WEDNESDAY, FEB 26TH 6-7PM AT
UP AND RUNNING IN DAYTON.
Training Program at a Glance:
Sunday afternoons 4-4:45pm at the Coffman YMCA with Jeni Noga, United States Masters Swimming Level 2 Certified Coach. Swim assessment for all athletes on March 1st- meet at Coffman YMCA pool deck at 3:45pm
Monday nights 6pm- indoor spinning at UAR Dayton with Heidi Riffle, Team Dayton Cycling Squad Leader. Outdoor cycling on Monday nights begins when weather permits.
UAR Dayton Tuesday nights (6pm) and Saturday mornings (7:30am). All paces/distances welcome.

• Weekly Athletic Trainer available at UAR (appointments Mondays 11am-12pm) and Monthly PT available at UAR (2nd Saturday of every month).

Whether you’re a novice runner, a seasoned marathoner or triathlete yoga is a great way to increase strength, flexibility, and most importantly body awareness. All abilities are welcome. We are thrilled to have Lindsay Kearns teach our classes at UAR and a portion of all proceeds from her classes benefit Girls on the Run of Dayton.
Class fee $5.00, benefiting Girls on the Run of Dayton! Please note classes moving forward will be from 11:45am-12:45pm every Sunday in Dayton.
Running & Walking 101 and 101.5
Our Running 101 winter session will kick off on February 15th! Stay tuned for our Running 101.5 dates.
The Running 101 run/walk group is for the individual who wants to train from the couch to 5k. Prior to starting this program the individual should be able to walk for a brisk 30 minutes. Up and Running will provide coach led workouts, training schedules, technical product, weekly updates, and much more. Registration fee of $70.00-includes weekly coaching, training shirt, race registration, and great perks at UAR! This program is for adults only and we can not accommodate strollers due to the nature of the program, thank you in advance for understanding. Register online here.
The Running 101.5 run/walk group is for the individual who has previously completed Running 101 or completed a 5K and is ready to jump up to a 10K! Registration fee of $60.00 for Running 101.5-includes weekly coaching, training shirt and race registration entry.

UAR Running Form Class
Nickie, UAR staff member and professional triathlete, and Dove, UAR staff member and accomplished marathoner & triathlete, lead the UAR form classes. Learn to run faster, easier, and injury free! This one hour class will teach you how to implement proper position, posture and cadence into your daily runs. Class limited to 25 people.
