Running & Walking Groups
Join our running and walking groups in Dayton and Troy. It is a great way to cover a few miles and make new friends! The running & walking groups are free of charge.
Every Tuesday night in Dayton at 6:00 PM at the store. All abilities welcome. Distances are under an hour on Tuesdays.
Every Wednesday night in Troy at 6:00 PM at the store. All abilities welcome. Distances are under an hour on Wednesdays.
Every Saturday morning in Dayton 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM at the store, depending on Daylight Savings Time. All abilities welcome. Varying distances every weekend. The run group currently meets at 7am for the spring and summer months.
Every Saturday morning in Troy at 8:00am at Winan’s Coffee Shop in Troy. The group will continue to meet at 8:00am for the spring and summer months. All abilities welcome. Varying distances every weekend.
Cycling Group
Join our outdoor cycling group Monday nights from 6:15 PM – 8:00 PM during the spring & summer months. Please contact the store for ride information.
During the winter months join us at the store for indoor spinning from 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM Monday evenings.
The outdoor rides have started! From May through the summer, rides will start at Caesar Creek State Park beach parking lot located at 8570 E State Route 73 Waynesville, OH 45068. Please meet at 6:15pm for the group ride, all abilities welcome. We will leave at 6:30pm promptly for the ride.
Swimming Group
The current UAR Swim & Tri Masters Program is swimming at the Beavercreek YMCA on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 5am-6am. For more information contact paul@upandrunningindayton.com. In June the group will move to Dayton Country Club in Oakwood on M-W-F from 5:30am-6:30am. Occasional open water swims will be held at Caesar’s Creek during the summer months. Call UAR for open water swim details.
Paul Bizzarro has been coaching masters and age group swim programs in Katy, Texas and Dayton, Ohio since 2005. Coach Paul has a Bachelor Degree in Arts & Sciences in Education from Bowling Green University. Paul swam competitively for the Bowling Green Men’s Swim Team for four years. Paul currently works full time at Up and Running. During Paul’s masters and age group coaching stint he has conducted practices with responsibilities that include stroke technique and monitoring aerobic/anaerobic systems. As a current masters swimmer and triathlete Paul brings a great expertise to practice.
Up and Running Jr’s
Join the Up and Running Juniors running program this summer for children entering K-8th grade. The program is designed to inspire the runner in each child by offering fun, dynamic running related games to increase fitness. The program will be held at Iron Horse Park in Washington Township. Registration forms available at Up and Running in Dayton or Troy.
Come learn and enjoy the benefits of running through a positive and rewarding experience! Your child will be grouped by ability to meet the individual needs of your child. We have created three fun groups that we hope will suit your children’s needs based on their varying degree of development The three groups are:
Lynx-My child can run, but needs frequent walking breaks during running. They can run less than 90sec. before needing a break.
Caracal-My child can run at least 2min. before requiring a break.
Servals-My child can run a mile (8min.) without requiring a break.

PROGRAM DATES: Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7pm-8pm. First session is Wednesday, June 18th and last session is Wednesday, July 25. Culminating Race on Thursday, July 26th at 7pm. Cost: $60.00 for first child and $30 for additional child.
